Join San Anselmo author and historian Brian Crawford for a richly illustrated presentation on the history of the Bolinas-Fairfax Road. The scenic road has a long and fascinating history intimately tied to the history of Marin County. A stage-coach line, operated by a series of remarkable characters, provided a crucial transportation link across the county. The road was rerouted many times as dams and reservoirs were built. It was also the scene of runaway coaches, landslides, bridge collapses, forest fires, earthquakes, overturns, encounters with bears and enraged stags, and one bizarre holdup.
