San Anselmo Schools of the Past
This exhibit highlights the public grammar schools that previously served San Anselmo students but no longer exist. The schools were established to accommodate increased enrollment in our community and subsequently closed often due to declining enrollments and budgetary shortfalls.
While three of these school buildings still remain and have been repurposed for other uses, the others have been lost over time and are reminders of other eras in our history.
The exhibit can be viewed daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the hallway outside the Historical Museum on the lower level of the San Anselmo Public Library.
