Old San Anselmo Days Banner

Remember the good old days when a dollar really went somewhere.

This Old San Anselmo Days Banner promoted a San Anselmo Chamber of Commerce event in June 1962 when merchants rolled back the prices to those a half century before or offered other discounts.

There were store-front decorations with prizes for the best and merchants dressed in straw hats and vests or bonnets and long skirts. To promote the event, Fire Chief Nello Marcucci drove the fire truck down the avenue with baker Dick Kientz stumming his banjo. Henry’s Ol’ Place on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard sold draft beer for 10 cents. An old-time air prevailed!

The banner is 36X38 inches and is yellow with blue lettering.
